A: 이제 입장이 뒤바뀌었어. 그래서 다음 계획을 짤 시간을 벌게 되었어.

B: 이렇게 진짜 역량 있는 사람을 가려내는 것이지.

 

the shoe is on the other foot: 이 표현은 입장이 뒤바뀌게 되었다는 뜻이다. 종종 사정이 바뀌면서 약자의 입장이었던 사람이 강자의 입장이 되었을 때 쓴다. buy time: 일을 마치거나 계획을 짜기 위해 필요한 시간을 늘린다는 뜻이다. separate the men from the boys: 실력자와 초보자를 구별한다는 뜻이다.
